After 3 years of design consultation RAB Expansion Joints have been chosen as the sole supplier of external expansion joints for the new Sainsbury’s mega store at Meols Cop, Southport.
The scheme has been delayed for a number of years due to planning challenges but groundworks finally began to convert the old HomeBase store in mid 2022.
RAB Expansion Joints approved installer, Radflex, will being installing a variety of different expansion control systems mid 2023.
Specification
RAB Expansion Joints worked with consulting engineers Hadfield Cawkwell Davidson and main contractor McLaughlin & Harvey to design and specify a number of expansion joint systems for the exterior of the new site including:
- Wabo®Elastoflex heavy duty joint for HGV loading yard.
- Wabo®Crete Membrane Gen II for the main car park
- Wabo®Jeene Air-Inflated joint and Wabo®XPE for other slab joints and perimeter joints.
